Preparation is the key to any good fishing or hunting trip. Year after year guests come to Caribou Lake Lodge and occasionally someone will forget to bring something that is important or that will make their trip more enjoyable. Unfortunatly, because of Caribou Lake Lodge's remote location its not possible to just run home and get it. Some supplies can be purchased at Armstrong, but the selection is limited. Below is a brief explanation of the weather conditions common to Caribou Lake and it's surrounding areas as well as a short list we have developed for both fisherman and hunters to help you better prepare for your trip.
Caribou Lake Weather
Caribou Lake sees a wide variety of weather throughout our season. During late spring and early summer temperatures range greatly from below freezing some nights to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) during the day. During mid to late summer temperatures are generally cool to warm at night and hot during the day. Autumn, brings cold nights and mild to cool days with occasional snow. The weather changes from year to year and from week to week. Some weeks will be sunny and hot all week, other weeks will be rainy and cool, and yet others will be a mixture of both. Storms can develop quickly over the lake and bring heavy rain and high winds. Sometimes isolated weather develops over Caribou Lake leaving one part of the lake beautiful and sunny, while another part is stormy and rainy. We always recommend that our guests bring along extra supplies while on the lake or in the field. You never know how or when the weather is going to change.
